Agreement on Taxation signed between India and Iran

India and Iran signed in New Delhi on 17 February,2018 an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation (DTAA) and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to taxes on income. The Agreement will stimulate flow of investment, technology and personnel from India to Iran& vice versa, and will prevent double taxation. The Agreement will provide for the exchange of information between the two Contracting Parties as per latest International Standards. It was signed by Smt. Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister (India) and Dr.Masoud Karbasian, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance (Iran).

Apart from it, MoU on Exemption from Visa requirement for holders of Diplomatic Passports; MoU on the establishment of an Expert Group on Trade Remedy Measures to promote cooperation in areas of mutual interest etc. were also signed.
