Open Law Library’s tools enable faster codification of laws in District of Columbia

LexisNexis and Open Law Library have come together in making the entire codification of laws simpler and faster in Washington, D.C.

Open Law Library has turned the process involving several rounds of editing for codifying a law into an automated task, taking about a week now. These tools –

  • Use artificial intelligence and natural language processing ;
  •  The codification counsel gets accurate information etc.

The Council of the District of Columbia started talks with the Open Law Library in 2014. In August 2015 , they began working on the pilot in earnest.
